Government has decided to discontinue NFHS. The ministry of health and family welfare is instead planning to roll out an integrated national health survey (NHS) that will replace three existing ones—NFHS, the district-level health survey (DLHS) and the Annual Health Survey (AHS) conducted across nine priority states by the office of the census commissioner.
