The budgetary allocation to Ministry of HRD for various schemes has been increased by 17% to Rs.65,877 crore. Under the total budgetary allocation, Rs 272.58 billion has been allocated for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rs 39.83 billion for Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, Rs 52.84 billion for scholarships and remaining for up-gradation of existing universities and other education schemes.
